Praised by some, despised by others, the bishop and founder Ángel Riesco Carbajo (1902-1972) surprises us for the sheen of his virtues. He was a very zealous and apostolic priest, with new initiatives in the pastoral task. He was creative in his catechizing methods and generous in the attention to the poor.
Soul of multiple apostolate, he founded the Apostolic Missionaries of Charity, a Secular Institute open to persons of any condition and state of health, established in several countries. Don Angel was an auxiliary bishop of Oviedo and of Tudela, and took part in the Second Vatican Council to which he contributed with valuable proposals. Nowadays his process of canonization has reached Rome.
