Following its theatrical release, LIGHT OF THE WORLD is now available on DVD, giving families the opportunity to enjoy at home one of the most carefully crafted Christian animated films of recent years.

The film tells the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus from a particularly intimate perspective: through the eyes of the Apostle John. The audience follows a young man searching for answers during a time of waiting, oppression, and hope. Along the way, he encounters Jesus, a man who does not exactly meet the expectations of many, but whose presence forever transforms the lives of those who follow Him.

One of the film’s greatest strengths is its use of hand-drawn 2D animation. Its warm, luminous, and deeply human visual style recalls the great tradition of classic animated cinema. This is not simply a retelling of a familiar story, but an opportunity to bring it once again to the hearts of viewers, especially children and families, through beautiful, expressive, and sensitive artwork.

The project brings together professionals with extensive experience in the animation industry, including veterans who have worked on major Disney productions. Among them is Tony Bancroft, co-director of Mulan, who serves as story director and animation director. That experience can be seen in the careful development of the characters, the fluidity of the animation, and the way the great moments of the Gospel are presented with emotion, clarity, and respect.

LIGHT OF THE WORLD is a film designed to be enjoyed by families, but it is also ideal for parishes, schools, religious education programs, and faith formation groups. Its value lies not only in its artistic quality, but also in its ability to present Jesus in an accessible, relatable, and deeply inspiring way. It invites viewers to look at the Gospel again with fresh and simple eyes, as though discovering it for the first time, and to realize that the story of Jesus continues to illuminate the lives of all who draw near to Him.
